Ayama Wines - Slent Farms

AYAMA is located on the slopes of the Paardeberg Mountain. The owners of AYAMA Farm are a group of Italian investors united by friendship and love for South Africa. They called the Farm with the name "Ayama", that it is a Xhosa word, which means "someone to lean on". From this comes the idea of bringing the Vermentino grape into the South African ampelography, the unusual choice to celebrate this union between Italy and the rainbow nation. We focused firstly on the “local” strong varieties, Chenin Blanc and Pinotage and then Shiraz, Merlot, Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Petite Sirah, Carignan.
