Description
Typical Durbanville red wine, with elegance and finess leading the taste experience. Juicy and fruity with red berries prominently coming to the fore alongside rich dark chocolate and warm sticky toffee pudding on the nose. A beautifully balanced wine on the palate, displaying red fruit, tobacco leaves and eucalyptus. Beef Brisket in a Bourguignon sauce will be delectable with this wine beside it. Alternatively, enjoy next to a cozy fire in winter to make the cold a more bearable.

Vineyard
Durbanville is the closest of the Cape Town wine valleys, in proximity to the ocean. Occassional misty mornings and the ever-cooling sea breeze make this part of the world perfect for grape growing. Add the lovely, dense clay soils and mostly north-facing vineyards to make wine-growing an absolute joy. Being a slightly cooler climate region allows for longer ripening periods, so grapes can ripen optimally before being harvested. Sauvignon blanc does particularly well here and makes up around 50% of the vineyards on our farm. The balance is allocated to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Riesling and Cabernet Franc.
