Ormonde Barrel Selection Shiraz 2015

Shiraz is highly adaptable and flourishes in many wine regions of South Africa.  The windy conditions on our estate leads to a small canopy, focusing the plants’ energy onto the grapes. Intense, bold, smoldering, powerful, luscious. This is what you will experience from this wine. A lovely savoury nose evolving into wild aniseed and spice.  Dark fruits complement the hints of spice. Well integrated tannins with a smooth and elegant finish. Aged in French oak barrels for 16 months. 40% new oak. Oxtail in rich port and balsamic sauce slow cooked till it falls from the bone.
