Description
The wine has a vibrant light golden straw colour. The nose has aromas of lemon preserve, lemon blossom and a hint of toasted almonds and buttered toast. The entry on the palate is frsh and vibrant with stunning lemon zest,toasted brioche, and marzipan flavours. The mid palate is full and rich but leads to a beautiful crisp lingering finish with a hint of flinty minerality on the end.

Vineyard
Grapes originate from Tokara's Stellenbosch property, as well as bought in fruit from two Stellenbosch vineyard where we have a longstanding relationship with the grape grower and specific blocks that we pick each year.
Vinification
The grapes were de-stemmed crushed and pressed without maceration to stainless steel tanks for overnight settling, after which the juice was racked and run to barrel with a certain percentage of lees added back.
Maturation
Approximaterly 10% of the wine fermented in stainless steel and the rest in 228L French oak barrels 10% being new barrels. The juice was inoculated with selected yeast fand fermentation took place from anythin between 15 and 35 days. The wine spent on average 8 months in barrel ageing on the gross lees with regular lees stirring. There was no maloactic fermentation on the wine. The wine was bottled in December 2015 after stabilisation and filtration.
