Description
All the freshness that one would expect from a Durbanville Sauvignon blanc, but with a rounder, fuller mouthfeel. Only free-run juice is used for this exceptional wine, of which 50% is barrel fermented for 3 months in older French oak, then blended with tank. Green pepper, asparagus & freshly cut grass come through on the nose. Great follow-through onto the palate, but with a slight hint of vanilla to coat the acidity. This wine hits the sweet spot every time!

Vineyard
Durbanville is the closest of the Cape Town wine valleys, in proximity to the ocean. Occassional misty mornings and the ever-cooling sea breeze make this part of the world perfect for grape growing. Add the lovely, dense clay soils and mostly north-facing vineyards to make wine-growing an absolute joy. Being a slightly cooler climate region allows for longer ripening periods, so grapes can ripen optimally before being harvested. Sauvignon blanc does particularly well here and makes up around 50% of the vineyards on our farm. The balance is allocated to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Riesling and Cabernet Franc.
