Description
VITICULTURE: The Pionier Pinotage was made from a 24-year-old single vineyard. This vineyard is 1.9 hectares in size and 400 meters above sea level. All harvesting, pruning and canopy management is done by hand. the grapes were destalked and hand sorted followed by natural fermentation in open wooden fermenters. Malolactic fermentation took place in new, 2nd and 3rd fill 225 litre French oak barrels.
