OLD ROAD WINE CO. SPOTTED HOUND 2021

This unconventional blend is inspired by the dog’s cheeky chutzpah. The Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre and Carignan are from the Agter-Paarl area. The Grenache is bush vine cultivated. The soils these vineyards grow in are mostly weathered granite, which imparts excellent minerality to the fruit. The palate is infused with red berries, Turkish delight and dried floral spice on the aftertaste.

The Grenache Noir, Mourvedre and Carignan all originating from Agter-Paarl. Hand-picked at optimal ripeness from selected vineyards, the Mourvedre grapes are specially source for their soft juicy tannins and opulent fruit flavours. The soils where these vineyards grow are mostly weathered granite, which imparts excellent minerality to the fruit.

In the cellar, the individual components spent 8 months in the finest 2nd and 3rd fill oak barrels, where after they were blended. The result is a wine that shows a slight saltiness on the nose with hints of soft cardamom spice.
